An accordion cartoon detailing a Victorian Gentleman's toothache with his torment described in forty-five scenes.
First published in 1849, The Toothache is described by Horace Mayhew, a 19th century London journalist who worked at the satirical magazine Punch.
With brightly coloured, striking illustrations provided by British caricaturist and illustrator, George Cruikshank.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's pictorial wraps. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear and the odd mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with just the odd handling mark. Tape reinforcing the first fold.
