Description

Very Scarce

Vanishingly scarce.

In the original spiral binding and card covers. Held in a quarter cloth chemise, with faux wood design and metal adornments to the corners.

Comprises seventy-two full pages of plans of theatres, concert halls, sporting arenas and cinemas. Including Covent Garden, Old Vic, London Hippodrome, Wimbledon, Globe, Wembley Stadium and more. Also with a loosely inserted large folding plan for the 1957 Royal Tournament.

Each full page plan provides details of each section, row and seat number, as well as seats obstructed by posts or those with restricted views of the stage.

Compiled and issued by Theatre Tickets & Messengers Ltd. and Ashton and Mitchell, both of which are linked to the Keith Prowse. The company entered the theatre ticketing business after acquiring "Theatre Ticket Messengers" a company which used young message boys to go to theatres and either hold seats or collect seat tokens for favoured clients. In the same year, the company was officially appointed by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club through its purchase of Ashton & Mitchell which held royal appointment and rights to Wimbledon tennis.
