William Marshall's ambitious study on the rural economy of England, these two volumes in particular focusing on the county of Yorkshire, the author's home county where he was born and died.

Marshall was one of the leading writers in the eighteenth century on English agriculture, with this detailed work offering an insight into the development of rural economy during the Industrial Revolution.

Condition

Bound in half calf. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities causing a little loss to leather, and a few marks. Small ink inscription to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot.
