In half blue morocco with blue cloth boards, decorative gilt on the spine, and a gilt fore edge, this is a beautiful copy of the famous Rubáiyát.
FitzGerald's Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám is a selection of quatrains attributed to Omar Khayyám (1048–1131), a Persian poet and astronomer, translated by FitzGerald from Persian to English.
With an introduction, edits, and notes by Persian scholar Reynold Alleyne Nicholson of the University of Cambridge.
Condition
In half blue morocco with blue cloth boards and gilt decoration to spine. Externally, very smart with slight rubbing, and the odd area of minor loss, to extremities and joints. Fading to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with some spotting, heaviest to first and last few. Marbled paste downs. Gilt fore edge.
