Includes personages such as Sir Thomas More, Lady Jane Grey, King Henry VIII, Sir Francis Drake, William Cavendish and Queen Anne, among others.
Illustrated with two-hundred and forty portrait plates, with twenty plates to each volume. Collated, complete.
Compiled by Edmund Lodge, a long-serving English officer of arms and writer of heraldic subjects.

Uniformly bound in half morocco, with marbled paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with rubbing to the extremities and slight fading to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with scattered spotting to the first and last few leaves.
