What Our Customers Say...
Description
An Important Work, First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition of the work.
One of eight Macmillan War Pamphlets published by Macmillan & Co. Limited with the aim of boosting the morale of the British during the Second World War. Others in this series include Let There Be Liberty by A. P. Herbert, and War with Honour by A. A. Milne.
E. M. Forster was a major English author who was responsible for the creation of several beloved classics including A Room with a View (1908), A Passage to India (1924), Maurice (1971), and Howard's End (1910). His writings had a tendency to explore themes of class difference, human relationships, sexuality, and demonstrated a persistent interest in mysticism. Nordic Twilight is a propaganda pamphlet in which Forster sets out his belief in the threat of Nazism. It is thus a work of notable historical value, as well as an illuminating text for any reader interested in the author's values and contemporary perspective on World War II.
