The first novel in Evelyn Waugh's Sword of Honour series, in which the author draws on his personal experiences from the Second World War. Followed by 'Officers and Gentlemen' and 'Unconditional Surrender', 'Men at Arms' introduces Guy Crouchback, the heir to a declining aristocratic family. This novel follows Crouchback's experiences as an officer during the first year of the war.

Condition
Bound in the publisher's cloth, with the original, price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very good, with a little bumping to the extremities. Light damp staining to cloth at the head of the front board and to the rear. Small fractions of paper adhered to the tail of the rear board. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Dust wrapper is sound, with chipping causing slight loss to the spine head and tail, a little to the extremities. Sunning to the spine of the wrap with light marking. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages, and just the odd mark.
