A fascinating illustrated study of sea life in the British Isles by English marine biologist Frederick Stratten Russell. From 1924 Russell worked for the Marine Biological Association in Plymouth, becoming its director in 1945.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with pictorial gilt design. Externally, excellent with some fading to boards and the odd mark to the boards. Light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned and the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few.
