The first edition of Patrick Leigh Fermor's Mani in the publisher's original red cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrapper, with 18s price intact.
With twenty-six monochrome photographs by Fermor's wife, Joan Eyres Monsell, a sketch map by John Woodcock, and frontispiece by John Craxton. Collated complete. With a pictorial dust wrapper also designed by Craxton.
Bound in red cloth with a gilt mermaid embossed on the front board.
Mani recalls Fermor's travels through Southern Greece with his wife and fellow travel writer, Xan Fielding.
Condition
In the publisher's original red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and mermaid design, in the original price clipped dust wrapper, with 18s price in tact. Externally, very smart with only slight bumping. Dust wrapper is generally smart, with several closed tears to wrap joints, and front and back panels. Wrap is age toned with spotting to interior and flyleaves. One damp stain to back of wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Only the odd spot to first few pages. Pages clean but age toned.
