With intricate gilt detailing and raised bands on the spine, complete with a gilt fore edge, this is a beautifully bound copy of the most popular collection of Moore's writings. Contains a dedication to the Marchioness Dowager of Donegal.

Thomas Moore (1779 - 1852) was an Irish poet, singer, and songwriter, now best remembered for the lyrics of The Minstrel Boy and The Last Rose of Summer, as well as for burning Lord Byron's memoirs after his death along with John Murray.

Condition

In full dark green morocco with gilt decoration to the front and back boards and spine. Externally, smart though with visible rubbing to extremities, including to head and tail of spine and to joints. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to pages throughout, heaviest to first and last free endpapers. Slight age toning to first and last few pages. Gilt fore edge.
