What Our Customers Say...
Description
First edition, sixth impression.
In publisher's original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper.
From acclaimed 20th-century novelist Graham Greene. Greene was the recipient of many literary awards such as the Shakespeare Prize and the Jerusalem Prize, and he was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize on multiple occasions. Also known for texts such as The Power and the Glory and Brighton Rock, The End of the Affair is considered one of his most timeless novels.
Set during and shortly after the Second World War, this work explores the obsessive romance between writer Maurice Bendrix and the married Sarah Miles. The story was in part inspired by Greene's 20-year relationship with Catherine Walston, wife to politican and member of the House of Lords, Henry Walston. The book has been adapted into two films, the first in 1955 and the second in 1999.
