What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
The first edition, first impression.
With the issue point 'Ihad' for 'I had' on page 7.
Bound in the publisher's cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper.
A bright example of Eliot's popular comic verse play, which was first performed at the 1953 Edinburgh Festival before being published the following year.
This amusing yet touching play surrounds a wealthy entrepreneur who attempts to smuggle his illegitimate son into his household under the pretence of acting as his "confidential clerk".
With the bookplate of Alexander White Thomas Liddell.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely, with one mark to the head of the front board. Bookplate to front paste down. Dust wrapper is also excellent, with light edge wear, heavier to the backstrip head, and a little sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages.
