The Hiler Costume Library refers to Hilaire Hiler, who was an avid costume book collector and rumoured to own one of the world's best costume book libraries at the time of his death.
The introduction states that the catalogue was comprised after a request from the "Office Central de Librairie et de Bibliographie", with the knowledge that little works dealing exclusively with costume were present at the time.
This work contains an array of titles that can be traced for various types of costume or dress. The categories are laid out for different countries, cultures and eras.
