French. Illustrated throughout with colour images. A charming language learning tool for children, being an alphabet of common words and items in French. From l'automobile, le ballon, and le chaise, to le xylophone, le yacht, and le zebre. Written and illustrated by Margaret Cardew, an English writer and illustrator also noted as an artist and painter who studied at Slade School of Fine Art and Academie Julian, in Paris. Dated from the British Library.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. A tear to the page displaying J words has been sympathetically repaired with tape.
