What Our Customers Say...
Description
Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
Very scarce work. A collection of essays on Japanese history on subjects such as sacred laws, Mediaeval mathematicians, dining, Harakiri or Seppuku, the introduction of international trade, travel, and much more. Written by Frank Cary, an American pilot who was the son of American Japanologist Otis Cary. After coming to Japan as a missionary in 1878, Otis retained a keen interest in the country and its history. From his library, his son Frank was able to compile an interesting history of lesser-known facts and loose leaves from these texts.
