This work is bound in bright paper boards, with a merry-go-round scene to the front.
An illustrated collection of tales from The Skipper Story Paper. This particular annual originally cost 5 shillings, which was twice as much as previous Skipper annuals. This Skipper book had been expanded into a bigger format.
The Skipper was a weekly story paper published between 1930 and 1941 by DC Thomson. It released a total of 544 issues and contained a combination of material which was both adventurous and humorous. It ultimately ended due to wartime paper shortages.
With 10 stories and 7 photo pages as well as decorative comic-style endpapers. With a frontispiece of the rock-totem of Baxter Island, in colour. Collated, complete.
Also included is a game entitled Round the Horn on pages 94-95.
Condition
In brightly illustrated publisher's boards. Externally sound with slight rubbing. Rubbing causing slight loss to paper on hinges and to the extremities. Light bumping to spine head and tail. The occasional mark to boards. Light age toning to endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Age toning to pages and the occasional spot.
