Scarce work. With the vanishingly scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and two full-page images. Collated complete. When a ten-year-old girl is sent to stay with her godmother in the country, she believes she will have a very dull time. But when she finds a Wishing Well, things certainly become interesting. Written by Mary Baldwin, an English historian and author. Illustrated by H. M. Rhodes, a British artist and illustrator.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and fading to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and chipping to the extremities resulting in minor loss to the head of the spine. Sunning to the spine and panel edges with the odd small mark. Small closed tears to the panel edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting and minor age toning to the endpapers. London Council bookplate to the front pastedown.
