Published in the U.S. as 'Three Men and a Maid', and first serialised in 'Woman's Home Companion' in 1921, this novel is set on a White Star ocean liner.
'The Girl on the Boat' follows a group of four people, one women and three men, as they sail for England.
Undated; dated 1927 via the list of titles facing the title page.
With eight pages of advertisements to the rear.
With the inscription 'To Doris from George XMAS 1927' to the front pastedown.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, exceptionally bright. Bumping to spine tail, Light spotting to fore edge of text block. Front hinge lightly strained to the tail, but firmly held. Inscription to front pastedown. Dust wrapper back strip lightly age toned. Losses to back strip head and tail, with significant loss to tail of front wrap. Closed tears and minor losses to front and rear wrap heads. Significant closed tear to tail of fold of rear flyleaf. Significant spotting to dust wrapper reverse. Internally, generally firmly bound, though a touch strained in places. Pages generally clean and bright, with instances of light spotting to first and last few leaves.
