Eleventh year of issue. Scarce issue. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, eighteen colour full-page images, eight full-page illustrations in tint, and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. The Collins' Children's Annual was a British publication for younger readers which was published around Christmas each year. The annual provided a mixture of long stories, short stories, verses, and illustrations. Most of the content was created by well-known writers and artists, including Cecil Dixon, Nettie Frater, Annie Ingham, Eleanor Farjeon, Dorothy King, John Lea, Charles Robinson, Harry B. Neilson, and Austin Molloy, amongst others. This volume contains titles such as: Wait and See, The Fairies' House Hunting, Our Caravan, The Crimson Rose, and Where the Christmas Trees Go, amongst others. Dated from ink inscription.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. Minor discolouration to the board edges with the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the fore-edge. A contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
