Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Eighteen volumes of later editions of the classic children's tales of author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, each richly illustrated in colour throughout.
Beginning in 1901 with the private printing of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' following a mischievous and disobedient young Peter Rabbit as he is chased around the garden of Mr McGregor, twenty-three of these charming children's tales were published in total.
Two volumes, 'The Tale of Flopsy Bunnies' and 'The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse', are in the original unclipped dust wrappers, and each illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-six plates. Collated, complete. Both volumes dated circa 1935 via the advertisements for 'Peter Rabbit's Race Game' to the front flyleaves.
