Both Sides the Border: A Tale of Hotspur and Glendower. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and four monochrome plates. Collated, complete.
With Wolfe in Canada: Or, The Winning of a Continent. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and four monochrome plates, and two map illustrations, one a Sketch map of Lake Champlain and Lake George and one of the Plan of Quebec. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth bindings. Externally, very smart. slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight rubbing to boards. Offsetting to endpapers with one or two spots. Front free endpaper of "Both Sides of the Border" removed. Spine of "Both Sides" slight faded with slight tape residue to front board. Slight soiling and spotting to perimeters oof boards on "Both Sides". Title page of "Both Sides" slightly disbound, 1cm or so, at lower corner towards the gutter. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper of "Wolfe in Canada." Previous owner's inscription to verso of frontispiece of "Wellington", "To William, with love & best wishes for Christmas, 1927." Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges slightly strained in places, but firm. pages bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to first and last few leaves and fore edges.
