This delightful recipe book contains 64 chocolate based recipes including: Cocoa Cake (Children's Own), Cocoa Gingerbread, Cocoa Jelly, Chocolate Ambrosia, Chocolate Cheese Cakes, Chocolate and Fruit Tart, Chocolate Sauce, Chocolate Puffs, Pink Cake - Cocoanut or Cherry, Chocolate Fairy Butter, and many more. These recipes are accompanied by numerous charming vignette illustrations that depict the prepared dishes in period style.
This copy is undated. Dated here as an estimate based on the design and usage of the Cadbury's logo, the style of typography and layout characteristic of early to mid-20th century printing, as well as the materials, binding, and overall physical condition.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper yapp binding. Externally, generally smart but a little worn. Title, price and logo faded. The odd chip, closed tear and loss to extremities of yapp binding. Particularly the head and tail of spine. Previous owner's bookplate to front free endpaper from "Martin & Pamela Finch: Exlibris Gastronomique". Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to fore edge and small ink inscriptions from previous owner's to one or two pages. One or two creases to final page.
