Colour Plates, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

Hans Andersen's popular juvenile tales, comprising 'The Nightingale,' 'The Real Princess,' 'The Garden of Paradise,' 'The Mermaid,' 'The Emperor's New Clothes,' and 'The Wind's Tale'. Charmingly illustrated with seven coloured plates by the famous illustrator Edmund Dulac, each tipped in and preceded by captioned leaf. Collated, complete. 

A later printing dated from contents, printed by C. Tinling & Co by arrangement with Hodder and Stoughton, who published the original edition in 1911 both in vellum binding limited editions and trade editions in olive cloth. 

With the original, unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's red cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, spine and boards lightly bumped to the extremities. The dust wrapper sound, unclipped with shelf wear, some chipped and rubbing to the extremities of the spine and wraps, professionally tape repaired internally to the head and tail of the spine, which is lightly sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Only few minor spots to the first and last few leaves, otherwise pages are generally bright and clean throughout. Illustrated with seven coloured plates by Edmund Dulac tipped in, each preceded by captioned leaf. Collated, complete. Tape marking affecting plate 'The Wind's Tale' to face p. 144.
