Rebound in dark paper card wraps. 

This is the revised edition, the two hundred and fiftieth impression of this work.

This copy is undated. Dated here using Jisc, from a copy held at the British Library.

This copy features 7 monochrome illustrated plates and two double sided colour plates, alongside numerous in-text illustrations. Collated, complete.

This volume is a classic New Zealand domestic manual offering 1,000 carefully curated and tested recipes, along with practical advice on carving, menu planning, laundry, general housekeeping, and both gas and electric stove use, aimed at "ordinary colonial households".

Recipes include: Baked Marmalade Pudding, Meat Batter Pudding, Passionfruit Jam, Rhubarb and Strawberry Jam, Scalloped Sweetbreads and Oyster Patties, to name a few.

Rebound in paper card wraps. Externally, very smart. One or two very faint handling marks. Previous owner's bookplate to front paste down from "Martin & Pamela Finch: Exlibris Gastronomique". Hinges reinforced with tape. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, if slightly age toned with one or two spots to fore edge. Title page particularly age toned, and slightly soiled with a couple of spots of minor damp staining. Chipping and creasing to title page perimeters. Previous owner's inscription to title page verso from 1927.
