Very scarce work. Illustrated throughout. A charming pocket-sized booklet full of breakfast recipes, including forty-two original breakfast menus. With helpful suggestions for healthy breakfast ideas to ensure your body gets what it needs each morning. Some examples of breakfast menus include: baked apples, grilled ham and tomatoes, scotch eggs, toast and marmalade, and Grape Nuts and milk. Compiled by Dorothy Cottington Taylor, an English editor and food writer who headed the Home Management pages of Good Housekeeping magazine before becoming the company director. Published on behalf of the Grape-Nuts Company who produce a brand of breakfast cereal made from flour, salt and dried yeast. The recipe was developed in 1897 by C. W. Post, a former patient and later competitor of the nineteenth-century breakfast food innovator Dr. John Harvey Kellogg.
Condition
In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light creasing to the extremities and the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light rust marks from the staples. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
