    Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

    From the Illustrated Michelin Guides to the Battle-Fields (1914-1918). This particular series on the Americans is complete in three volumes. 

    In the original cloth bindings. 

    These volumes cover in detail many of the major battles of the First World War and the American armies, discussing in detail the progress of these battles, and their origins and conduct.

    "In memory of the Michelin workmen and employees who died gloriously for their country". 

    Each volume is illustrated throughout the text with maps, photographs and figures. 

    Volume I: The Second Battle of the Marne (Chateau-Thierry, Soissons, Fismes)
    Volume II: The Battle of Saint Mihiel (St. Mihiel, Pont-A-Mousson, Metz)
    Volume III: The Meuse-Argonne Battlefields (Montfaucon, Romagne, Sainte-Menehould) 

    With advertisements to the endpapers and pastedowns.

    Condition

    In the original cloth bindings. Externally, with handling marks to the cloth and darkening to the spines. Nottingham Public Libraries plate to the front boards. With slight rubbing to the extremities, mostly to the spines' heads and tails. Internally, firmly bound. With age toning to the endpapers, however contents are bright and clean, with only the odd institutional ink impression to the pages.
