Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Ten volumes of later editions of the classic children's tales of author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, each richly illustrated in colour throughout.

Beginning in 1901 with the private printing of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' following a mischievous and disobedient young Peter Rabbit as he is chased around the garden of Mr McGregor, twenty-three of these charming children's tales were published in total.

Four of these volumes, dated via the endpapers, were published circa 1919-1921, following Frederick Warne becoming a limited company - which was in 1919 - and with Quinby plate XV endpapers, which were used in publications between the year 1918 and 1921. These volumes are:

The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, illustrated with twenty-six colour plates.

The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes, illustrated with twenty-six colour plates.

The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse, illustrated with twenty-six colour plates.

The Tailor of Gloucester, illustrated with twenty-six colour plates.

Collated, complete.
