Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce accordion edition of 'Red Riding Hood', part of the series 'Willy Pogany Children'. A verse retelling of the popular seventeenth century fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood. 

Illustrated by Willy Pogany with colour accordion plates, monochrome vignettes to the text. Willy Pogany was an eminent Hungarian illustrator known for his Art Nouveau style.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing and marks to the boards, with a small amount of wear and loss to the extremities. Boards are age-toned. Chip to the head of the boards. Internally, firmly bound, in the original publisher's accordion style binding. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots and handling marks. A small amount of wear to the gutter. Fourten of the vignettes have been hand-coloured by a prior owner.
