Dated from the National Trust Libraries. Illustrated with twenty-four colour plates, and a map of Kensington Gardens to the endpapers. Collated complete. 'Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens' is one of Barrie's four major works containing the beloved and popular character Peter Pan. Most of the text in this work originally appeared Barrie's 1902 novel 'The Little White Bird.' Written by Sir James Matthew Barrie, a Scottish novelist and playwright, best remembered as the creator of Peter Pan. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, an English book illustrator recognised as one of the leading figures during the Golden Age of British book illustration.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. Splits in the cloth to both joints. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with light scattered spotting. A 2" closed tear to plate eleven.
