A collection of three articles by Archibald F. Becke from the 'Journal of the Royal Artillery' Vol XLIV, No. 2-3. 

Signed and dated by the author to the front pastedown. 

Illustrated with four folding maps. 

Three articles by Archibald F. Becke on the infamous Battle of Friedland in 1807. The battle was fought between the French and Russian Empires and was a key battle in the Napoleonic wars. The articles cover the events of the battle, with commentary from Becke. 

Bound in half straight grain morocco with moire cloth boards.

Undated, dated by the inscription to the front pastedown and by other volumes of the journal.

Condition

Bound in half straight grain morocco with moire cloth boards. Externally, joints starting to the tail, with light rubbing to the extremities and joints, and small closed tears to the head of the spine. Bookplates to the front endpapers with author's signature to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with spotting to the blanks only, and a portrait adhered to the front blank.
