In the original unclipped dust wrapper.

Originally published as 'L'Île mystérieuse', or 'The Mysterious Island', in French in 1875, this English translation was published as a trilogy; 'Dropped From the Clouds' beings the trilogy, followed by 'The Abandoned' and 'The Secret of the Island'.

'Dropped From the Clouds' is a crossover sequel with one of Jules Verne's best known work 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas'. This novel begins during the American Civil War, with five prisoners of war escaping during the Siege of Richmond by hijacking a hydrogen observation balloon.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with some light marks to the boards, a little heavier to the spine. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spots to the top and fore edge. Edge wear to the dust wrapper, with chips to the head and tail of the spine, and some closed tears, large tear to the rear joint. Wraps are age-toned with some spotting, including to the reverse. Price sticker to the front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
