A charming box containing all needed to play Bezique.
This included a small booklet titled 'The Standard Rules of the Royal Game of Bezique', two markers, in yellow and green, and two sets of cards, which are presented together in a decorated box.
With two packs of thirty-two cards, and three additional jokers. Cards are printed in red floral lattice to the reverse, and rounded corners.
Bezique is a popular trick-taking card game from nineteenth century France. The game is derived from piquet.
Collated, complete.
Condition
In the original publisher's box, with paper-covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Boards are age-toned and lightly marked. Rubbing to the extremities, resulting in a little loss, and to the rear board. A couple of small tears to the box. Markers are smart with light rubbing, a little heavier to the yellow marker. Booklet is firmly bound, with light age-toning. Wraps are a little marked and rubbed. Cards are very lightly edge worn and discoloured.
