Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

A very scarce accordion edition of 'The Three Bears', part of the series 'Willy Pogany Children'. A verse retelling of the popular nineteenth century fairy tale of Goldilocks. 

Illustrated by Willy Pogany with colour accordion plates, monochrome vignettes to the text. Willy Pogany was an eminent Hungarian illustrator known for his Art Nouveau style.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing and marks to the boards, with a small amount of wear and loss to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound, in the original publisher's accordion style binding. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots and handling marks. Six of the vignettes have been hand-coloured by a prior owner. Pencil mark to the final colour plate.
