Quinby No. 17, correctly dated to the title page and colophon, and with Quinby plate VIII and IX endpapers, as called for.
Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, monochrome vignettes, and nine colour plates in Potter's typical style. Collated, complete.
With the contemporary bookplate of 'Simon & Phil', dated 1909, to the front pastedown, and a 1909 inscription to the to the half title.

Condition
In the publisher's original paper covered boards with pictorial onlay. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear to back strip tail and with light rubbing to head and tail of fore edge of front board. Front hinge strained but firmly held. Contemporary bookplate to front pastedown, and inscription to half title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally bright and generally clean, with only the odd light handling mark.
