A very scarce book containing sixty-one printed black and white photographs of the British Naval Expeditionary Force in the Cameroons 1914-1915.
Collated against a copy held at auction, lacking two pages of photographs.
Rebound in cloth boards, with front cover from the original wraps laid down.
This naval expedition, which was part of the Kamerun campaign, involved cruisers like HMS Cumberland and HMS Challenger, along with gunboats such as HMS Dwarf, which were tasked with disrupting German naval and coastal defences.
Condition
Rebound in cloth boards, with front cover from the original wraps laid down. Externally, with marks to the original cover, otherwise boards are excellent, with minimal shelf wear. Bookplate of one Francis E. B. Witts to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with light handling marks to the title page and last page. With a couple small closed tears to the title page.
