A detailed guide to the rock garden with chapters on dianthus alpinus, viola gracilis, saxifraga cochlearis, and primula hirsuta, amongst others. Written by Reginald John Farrer, a traveller and plant collector noted for his travels to Asia in search of a variety of plants, many of which he brought back to England. Dated from the British Library.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor bumping to the extremities and light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and light age toning to the endpapers.
