A beautifully illustrated first edition thus of Charles Dickens' first novel, first published in its entirety in 1836.
Illustrated by British artist Frank Reynolds, best known for his illustrations for several Dickens books, including 'David Copperfield' and 'The Old Curiosity Shop'. He was also art editor for 'Punch' magazine.
Condition
In the publishers original cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally bright, with some marks to the rear board and spine. Light fading to front board. Bumping to head and tail of spine. Spotting to endpapers and pastedowns. Internally, generally firmly bound. Light spotting, concentrated to first and last few pages. Tipped in colour plates are bright, all tissue guards intact.
