Description

A charming early twentieth century illustrated children's book by artist and illustrator Cecil Aldin.
Aldin was best known for his delightful paintings and sketches of animals, sports, and rural life, with both of these volumes illustrated throughout.
Illustrated with twelve colour plates. Collated, complete.
Undated; dated circa 1909 via Jisc.
In a scarce variant of the publisher's binding, featuring two white puppies to the front board, rather than one.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with back strip lightly age toned. Horizontal split to cloth at back strip centre. Discolouration to perimeters of rear board, with rubbing to fore edge of head of front board. Hinges strained, and a touch tender. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to first few leaves, with pages otherwise clean and bright.
