With chapters on individuals such as: Thomas Guy, John Dunston, Jacob Tonson, Samuel Richardson, and John Newberry, as well as a chapter on the Chapter Coffee-House and the market of literature. Written by Charles Knight, an English publisher, editor and author.

Condition

Bound in full crushed morocco. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark. A small crack to the head of the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or crease. Minor age toning to the endpapers. With the previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
