Considered by many to be Goethe's magnum opus and one of the greatest works of German literature. Faust is a tragic play in two parts mainly written in rhymed verse. Part one focuses on the soul of Faust, which is eventually sold to the Devil, with part two discussing social phenomena such as psychology, history and politics, in addition to mystical and philosophical topics.
Written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a German polymath, who is widely regarded as the greatest and most influential writer in the German language. Translated by Abraham Hayward, an English writer and translator. Illustrated by William Andrew Pogany, a prolific Hungarian illustrator of children's and other books.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, faded to the spine, with light handling marks. Light spotting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with bright pages with occasional light spotting.
