The first edition of this very scarce work.

A charming anthology of proverbs, collecting thirty-five juvenile proverbs to educate and entertain children.

Illustrated to each page, twelve of which are in colour.

The delightful illustrations are by Bessie Hitch, who also published 'Wee Folks Alphabet'.

Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Libraries.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light handling marks to the boards. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Bookseller's label to the front paste down. Ink inscription to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
