First edition in book form. First published as a theatrical prompt book the year prior. 

Includes marbled boards and endpapers.

This attractive volume holds the comedic play by Pinero, in which the narrative follows the character of Lord Quex as he prepares to marry Miss Muriel Eden, with his former relationships causing a cascade of complexities. The work lightheartedly covers themes of love, reputation, and social propriety. The play was first performed at the Globe Theatre on April 8th 1899.

In half crushed morocco. Externally, excellent. Odd mark to boards. Previous owner's bookplate to front paste down. Binder's stamp to rear of front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
