A very scarce third edition of Frederick J. Davis’ ‘Sailors’ Songs or “Chanties”’.

Including a preface from the first, second, and third editions.

A charming collection of classic sails’ songs, accompanied by music composed and arranged upon traditional sailor airs by Ferris Tozer.

Signed by previous owner on front pastedown, “Robin With lots of love from Aunt Frances. Xmas 1922”.

Condition

In the original publisher’s quarter cloth binding, with decorative paper boards. Boards quite age toned with a few markings. Some rubbing to the spine and edgewear to extremities. Signed by previous owner on front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pastedowns and endpapers age toned. Otherwise pages are bright and clean. Signature of previous owner to title page.
