This is a complete twenty-five volume set of works from the Punch Library of Humour series.

The volumes draw from Punch; or, The London Charivari, the famous British weekly magazine founded in 1841 by Henry Mayhew and engraver Ebenezer Landells. It became a cornerstone of Victorian and Edwardian humor, social satire, and political cartooning.

These volumes are profusely illustrated by various well-known artists, such as John Leech, Charles Keene, George du Maurier, and later Sir John Tenniel, best known for illustrating Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth bindings. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, more so to heads and tails of spines. Slight rubbing to boards. The odd minor handling mark to boards with slight rubbing. Offsetting to endpapers, with scattered spotting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to first and last few leaves.
