Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. Illustrated by Laslett John Pott, a British artist of the Romantic movement.

Condition

In the original full brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound with page vii detached but present. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting, predominantly to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown.
