A pleasing selection of seventeen works from prolific English novelist G. A. Henty. 

Comprising a mixture of first editions (stated as such) and new undated impressions. These undated copies have been dated either from Jisc or the the years aligning with the changes in the publisher's address (hence the use of circa). 

Henty is best known for his historical and adventure novels, notably The Dragon and The Raven, For the Temple and In Freedom's Cause. Noted for his thorough research (and sometimes first-hand experience) in the events he set his stories within, Henty was the most popular Boy's author of his day, inspiring other other writers to attempt writing juvenile adventure stories in his style, including Herbert Strang, Percy F. Westerman and Henry Everett McNeil.

Condition

In the original cloth bindings. Externally, quite smart, with generally mild rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Occasional instances of fading to the spines and marks to the boards. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown of 'Curse of Crane's Hold'. Internally, generally firmly bound. Contents page to 'Redskin' held only by tape. Pages are generally bright and clean, with contemporary ink inscriptions to the majority of the volumes' front endpapers. With occasional spots, largely concentrated to the first and last few leaves.
