A very scarce work.

With two illustrated title pages, and fifty-eight pages of sheet music. Collated, complete.

In this volume, William Langton Williams sets twelve of Aesop's iconic fables to music, including 'The Hare and the Tortoise', 'The Lion and the Mouse', and 'The Ass and the Little Dog'.

Undated; dated circa 1890 via the British Library.

Aesop's Fables are a collection of brief moral tales attributed to a storyteller believed to have lived in ancient Greece around the 6th century BCE.

Williams has versified these fables for the pianoforte.

Condition

In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Boards exceptionally bright. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with back strip lightly age toned. Front hinge lightly strained, with boards firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
