Each volume is vibrantly illustrated with numerous charming in-text illustrations and colour plate engravings on steel, with a total of 88 colour plates across all volumes. Collated, complete.

Robert Smith Surtees (1805–1864) was an English novelist and sporting writer best known for his humorous depictions of country life, hunting, and the eccentric English gentry.
Condition
Bound in a half calf with marbled boards by Henry Young & Sons. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities and spines. Slight fading to extremities, more so to upper perimeters on one or two copies. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots to first and last few leaves and fore edge.
