Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

Fourth edition. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and seven colour plates. Collated complete. From the "One Syllable Library" series, a collection of classic retellings from London-based publisher Cassell, Petter & Galpin, all produced for children using a lexicon of one-syllable words. A charming and exciting retelling of the history of Reynard the fox, and of his son Reynardine. With all of the major incidents of Reynard's story, from his mistreatment of the other animals to his defence against charges at the court of the lion king. As well as the story of Reynardine, a son who turns out every bit as villainous as his father, just not quite so clever. Written by Samuel Phillips Day, a British author.
