Leather Binding
Victor Hugo was a French poet, novelist and essayist active during the Romantic movement. Best known for 'Les Miserables' and 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame', he remains a popular and important French figure.
In eleven volumes, being 'Les Miserables' in four volumes, 'Les Travailleurs de la Mare' in two volumes, 'Les Contemplations' in two volumes, 'L'Homme Qui Rie', which lacks the first volume, and 'Notre Dame-de Paris' (known in English as 'The Hunchback of Notre-Dame') in two volumes.

With the armorial bookplate of the Earl of Cavan to the front pastedown of most volumes, and of Sheila Talbot to the front pastedown of 'Les Miserables'.
Condition
In a half calf binding. Externally a trifle worn, with the heads and tails of the spines rather bumped. Joints are also rubbed. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown of most volumes. Internally, binding is generally firm, with just a slight strain. Pages are just a touch age-toned to the edges.
